When I was living in Bangkok and Hanoi I was always concerned about how long it took to get from where I lived to out of town, to the outskirts, to the rice paddies. Anyway with pretty reasonable but Bangkok forget it, if anything happened in Bangkok and you're in the middle of town like I was right, near I ConSiam next to the river you are finished unless you get a boat out on the river. So I still think is a better place because you can get out of the Cities, you can get to the rice fields,
